Rise can be attributed to
increase in disillusionment with traditional religions which are being replaced by materialism, scepticism and individualism as people are beginning to question God and move towards science and independence
2022 in align with the Royal Commission into Child Sex Abuse
74% of people said it was the main factor driving them away from Christianity (Mcrindle data, 2022).Thus, perceived hypocrisy, abuse of power and the irrelevance of the traditional have continued to push more individuals towards no religion.
