Political - 4 freedoms
Substantive - to have a purpose
Collective - culture, self-determination
Inter-Generational - related to land for future generations
Non-Human - do animals have rights
Political Rights - 4 freedoms
expression (freedom of speech)
Conscience (freedom of thought)
Arbitrariness (Rule of law)
Participation (participation in society, of ones interests)
Substantive Rights
work/education, health, needs, a right to subsistence
the right to have an opportunity
Collective Rights
cultural, language, self determination (creating/choosing government)
Inter-Generational Rights
does this generation have a right to use the environment that we render it unusable in the future
can we even consider rights of the future?
Non-human Rights
do non-humans have rights?
do we have the right of eating meat? (ie killing a cow)
