Power & Interest Flashcards
What is Power? 3 things
Relational - Never emanates by one single force that causes everything around it to move
Relative - To the thing that we’re talking about
Contextual - In which certain forms of power are relevant
Three ways power operates
Pluralist (institutionally) - can’t tangibly hold power but we can see it in terms of it’s outcomes
Agenda setting - power can be manifested
Convergence - my interests are your interests
