What are some examples in the scriptures of when God’s elect, covenant people allowed the world’s cultures, laws, values, and standards to infiltrate their own? They become like the world rather than blessing the world as the Abrahamic covenant anticipated?

Joshua 24:15
Joshua issued this challenge: “Choose you this day whom ye will serve”
1 Kings 18:21
Elijah offered the same choice on Mount Carmel: “How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him”
What did Jesus Christ mean when He spoke of the salt of the earth losing its savor?
Meaning that if the Lord’s elect become like the world, they can no longer fulfill the Abrahamic covenant of blessing the world.
Why do the choices we make determine to a large extent our happiness or unhappiness?
Because our choices reveal our true priorities
