Aircraft: When approaching for landing
Aircraft of lower altitude has RoW
Aircraft: Aircraft in approach for landing have RoW over:
1) Others in the pattern 2) Those on the ground
Boating: 2 powered vessels, head on
Both give way to starboard
Boating: 2 powered vessels, crossing paths
Vessel on operator’s left gets RoW
Boating: 2 powered vessels, overtaking
Overtaking boat gives way, Can pass on either side.
Boating: Powered vs. sail
Powered always gives RoW Overtaker always gives RoW
Boating: Sail vs. sail, wind on same side
Leeward (downwind) stands on.
Boating: Sail vs. sail, wind on different sides
Vessel w/ wind on starboard is the stand-on.
Boating: If operating powered boat, 4 general RoW rules
Give way to: 1) Any vessel not under command 2) Any vessel restricted in ability to maneuver 3) Any vessel engaged in commercial fishing 4) any sailing vessel, unless it’s overtaking
