What is “soften the building?”
RIC team can cut bars off windows, throw ladders to second floor windows, forcible entry, secure facilities; done in conjunction with fire attack.

Personal Accountability Report Given prior to making entry to structure Air level given to IC is of the lowest level within the crew
PAC CAN
Given upon locating downed firefighter
Pass alarm - reset
Air/Assess - check air level
Communicate - information to the IC
Conditions - high heat, smokey etc…
Actions taken - relay current actions being taken
Needs - request for additional resources. Another RIC team should be activated to help with downed firefighter
What are four ways to get air to a downed firefighter?
- Quick connect MMR (richmond doesn’t use this; county does)
- UAC (universal air connection)
- MMR exchange
- Mask exchange
What are the two different hoses on the RIC 60min bottle?
Braided hose - high pressure hose with a UAC
Soft rubber hose - low pressure hose with a quick connect MMR
