Give examples of DMARDS and what is the first line one used ?
A
1st line one - methotrexate
Other DMARDs include sulphasalazine, hydroxychloroquine and leflunomide.

What are the most commonly used biologic theapy drugs in RA?
A
TNF alpha drugs - etanercept, infliximab, adalimumab, certolizumab pegol, and golimumab

toclizumab, rituximab and abatacept

What do DMARDS increase the risk of ?
A
They are immunosuppressive so infection and bone marrow suppresssion

What does treatment with biologics increase the risk of and specifically what in particular ?

Increase the risk of infection - esp TB
