What is the connection between PMR and giant cell arteritis (temporal arteritis)
Polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and giant cell arteritis (GCA) frequently affect the same types of people. The diseases may occur independently or in the same patient, either together or at different times.
Describe sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disease of unknown cause affecting young and middle-aged adults. Patients commonly present with bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy, pulmonary infiltrates, and ocular and skin lesions. It usually affects the LUNGS AND SKIN. The symptoms of sarcoidosis depend on which organs are affected, but typically include: tender, red bumps on the skin. shortness of breath.
