  • Act: what was done (commitment to realism)
  • Scene: context in which act was performed (downplays free will, situation determinism)
  • Agent: personal or people who performed the act (assumes free will choice, personal responsibility)
  • Agency: means thae agent used to act (pragmatism, “get-the-job-done” attitude)
  • Purpose: stated or iplied goal of the address (desire for unity and meaning in life)
