Sugar Act
Great Britain needed to raise taxes so they did it on coffee, textiles, wine, sugar, and molasses. Created in 1764.
Stamp Act
All paper documents needed a stamp on them that was sold for a couple cents, passed in March 22, 1765.
Quartering Act
Redcoats could live in any housing they found, passed on March 24, 1765. Colonists felt like they had no voice.
Townsend Act
Essential goods like glass, lead, and tea were taxed. Passed in 1767
Boston Massacre
5 colonists were killed by redcoats while protesting. Happened on March 5, 1770
Proc of 1763
Colonists couldn’t cross this line after fighting for the land because british didn’t want to start another war.
Tea Act
Granted the British East India company access to ship its tea directly to the colonies instead of first going to England.
Declaratory Act
It was a message from the British to let the colonists know they are in charge and can tax whatever they want.
Intolerable Acts
The British punished the colonists after the Boston Tea Party. Passed in 1774
Sons of Liberty
A secret group of colonists who went against the redcoats.
