Catholics believe nuclear war should not be allowed because many innocent peoples homes and lives will be destroyed. On the other hand some people think nuclear war is necessary for defence.

Pacifism

The Christian argument for pacifism is based partly on Jesus’s teaching in the Sermon on the Mount and other places, and in the example that Jesus sets Christians through his life. Also Martin Luther King was a pacifist. Also the Quakers were pacifist.

Forgiveness

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:14-15)

Jesus’ teachings ‘do not let anger fill your mind’ this suggests that Jesus is teaching people to try to have a peaceful mind, not anger all the time. On the other hand in the bible it tells us that Jesus got angry in the Temple when people were selling the lamb as sacrifices.
