What is the first thing that happens in baptism
Welcome: The priest welcomes the child and parents at the door of the church and asks if they are willing to bring up the child as a Christian

Bible readings and prayers: There is a short reading from the Bible and prayers for the baby, the parents and the God-parents to help them in their role of bringing up the child

Exorcism: The priest holds up his hands and says ‘Oh God, you sent your son to cast out the power of Satan, set this child free from original sin

The Anointing: The priest anoints the child on the chest with the oil of catechumens

The baptism: Water is poured over the child’s head three times. The priest says the child’s name and ‘I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’ Water symbolises new life.

The Anointing with Chrism oil: This is the second anointing. Chrism oil is a symbol of being chosen for a special task – to live as a Christian in a loving way

White gown: The child often wears a white gown as a symbol of purity
Baptismal candle: A candle is given to one of the parents or God-parents who light it from the great Paschal candle. This is a sign of hope that the child will live their life the way Jesus wants them to.
Blessings: The Lord’s Prayer is said and the priest blesses the child, the child’s parents and all the friends and family in the church

 The Passover is the one of the most important festivals in the Jewish year. It is also known as the Pesach

Saltwater represents the tears of the Jews in Egypt

The egg represents new life. It is not eaten, but it is roasted.

How did Jewish families prepare for the Passover meal?
Jewish families, prepare for the Passover meal by clearing the all bits of bread from the house, such as wheat, barley and oats. Jews hide bread around the house for children to find and burn. 
Why is the Passover important to the Jews?
It helps them empathise with the oppressed people of Egypt

Heaven was made when light and heavy mist separated. Light mist rose and made heaven and heavy mist went down and made earth. ying and yang represent the balance of the four spirits from everything this came, and if there was only one spirit, they would all be destroyed.
