What is meant by a matrix organization? What is its primary disadvantage?
An organizational structure that allows you to work in teams and interact with different groups. The primary disadvantage is that you have two bosses which makes performance appraisals more difficult.
Welch provides five lists of questions to test a company’s strategy to see if it’s getting the company where it wants to go. What are the five titles on these slides?

We discussed a delegating exercise. In it, you are a middle manager at a manufacturing company who comes back from a week vacation to a lengthy to-do list. In deciding which items to delegate to your assistant, what are the three most important considerations we discussed?
- Delegate as much as you can

Speak candidly about the employee’s performance and not about the reason that they want to work from home.
