Q
What are the 4 starling forces
A
Pc, Pif, IIp, IIif
2
Q
Short term control of blood pressure (second, minutes)
A
controleld by baro and chemo receptors, these adjust the volume of the vasculature. its driven by sympatheric nervous system
3
Q
Long term control of blood pressure (hours, days)
A
kidneys and lungs as they adjust the volume of blood. this is done by balancing thirst and urone formation along with salt
4
Q
Chemo receptors versus Baroreceptors
A
- Barroreceptors (Stretch receptors) are located in the heart and use a short term negative feedback loop to regulate blood pressure. this process is initated by the SNS
- chemoreceptors are located in the carotid body work more in respiration and work when there is a lack of oxygen and high amounts of H+ and CO2
5
Q
control of Acute blood flow
A
Rapid vasodilation or constriction of arterioles
6
Q
control of Chronic blood flow
A
increase in the size and quanitity of blood vessles (Angiogensesis)
