Who needs Statin therapy?
Hx of ASCVD (secondary prevention or risk equivalent)
* < 75 years old: High intensity statin
* > 75 years old: moderate intensity statin (sometimes will see simvastatin 20-40mg)
* target LDL decrease by 50%, very high risk? goal < 70
LDL > 190mg/dL (primary prevention)
* High intensity statin: atorvastatin 40-80mg, rosuvastatin 20-40mg
Diabetes (ages 40-75)
* moderate intensity statin
* ASCVD risk > 7.5% high intensity
Pt w/o diabetes or ASCVD (ages 40-75) with estimated 10 year ASCVD risk > 7.5%
* moderate to high intensity statin

Testing for PAD
- ABI first line claudication
- sign of occlusive dz, usually ultrasound
- other imaging only after ABI or US (CT, MRI, cath)
BMI < 18.5
underweight
BMI 18.5-24.9
Normal
BMI 25-29.9
overweight
BMI >30 classes
Obese
* Class I (30-34.9)
* Class II (35-39.9)
* Class III (>40)
what labs should be done for initial evaluation of HTN?
- ECG: screening for LVH
- creatinine, UA: screening for kidney dysfuntion
- TSH: Screening for secondary cause
- Glucose/A1C: Assessing for other CV risk factor
- Lipids: Asessing other CV risk factor
