Q

Effects of heat and water on hydrated and anhydrous copper (II) sulphate

A

Hydrated = water is present
Anhydrous = water is not present

Hydrated copper sulphate –(ENDOTHERMIC)–> Anhydrous copper (II) sulphate + water
– White coloured product

Anhydrous copper (II) sulphate + water –(EXOTHERMIC) –> Hydrated copper sulphate
–blue coloured product
– water must be present for the reaction to take place
