What is 6.1 in the Conditions of the Travel Policy? (5)
6:1
You must have a valid ticket before you board a train or you may be subject to a penalty fare
Unless:
- No ticket buying facilities at the station
- You have authorisation to board a train by a member of staff written/verbal
- Ticket office is closed
- Self service ticket machine is not in working order or will not accept you method of payment (get a promise to pay)
- You have a disability and ticket purchasing arrangements are not accessible to you
What are the reasons a penalty fare may be issued in section 10 of the Conditions of Travel? (5)
- Travel without a valid ticket
- Travel in first class with a Standard ticket
- Travel on a train where the ticket isn’t valid
- Travel on a train company where your ticket isn’t valid
- Travel without supporting documents i.e Railcards etc
How much is a Penalty Fare?
£100 plus cost of the ticket for the journey
Or
£50 if paid within 21 days

Age range for ticket types?
0-4 years old: Free Travel
5-15 years old: Child Fare (50% of an Adults fare)
16+ years old: Adult Fare
