CHAPTER 1
- On the island of Patmos, John is in the Spirit on the Lords day, and hears a voice commanding Him to write down what he hears
- sees seven golden candlesticks and the Son of man
- In his hands were the seven stars representing the seven churches
CHAPTER 2
-Church in Ephesus
They have endured hardships for his name, but they have fallen away from their first love
-Church in Smyrna
They are in poverty, yet they are rich.
-Church in Pergamum
They remain true to His name, yet one thing holds against is that some believed in the teachings of Balaam, ate food sacrificed to idols, committed sexual immorality
-Church in Thyatira
They are doing more now than they first did, but they tolerated Jezebel who called herself a prophet while committing sexual immorality
CHAPTER 3
-Church in Sardis
reputation of being alive, but are dead. A few are not, and will walk with Him
-Church in Philadelphia
acknowledges that they have little strength, but have managed to not deny Christ
-Church in Laodicea
Because you are lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth, I wish you were one or the other
CHAPTER 4
- John taken before throne of God
- 24 chosen ones
- four creatures; they gave glory to God
- lion, ox, man, and an eagle
CHAPTER 5
- Right hand of One on the throne is the scroll with seven seals
- the Lamb is found worthy to break the seals and open the scroll
CHAPTER 6
-Opening of the seven seals
CHAPTER 7
- Four angels hold in check the four winds; no wind blew
- Told not to release the winds until the seal is imprinted on the servants of God
CHAPTER 8
- 7th seal; silence in heaven for about a half hour
- the four trumpets
CHAPTER 9
- 5th trumpet
- star falls from sky to earth; it is given the key and opens the abyss
- those without the seal on their foreheads were tortured
CHAPTER 10
- Another mighty angel from heaven descends
- He holds the scroll that has been opened
- John was said he wasn’t to write down what the 7 thunders said
- When the seventh angel blows the trumpet, God’s plan will be accomplished in full
- John is told to eat the scroll
CHAPTER 11
- Violent earthquake
- One tenth of the city is destroyed
- 7000 killed, the rest repent
- 7th trumpet: loud voices call out that the kingdom of the world belongs to the Lord
CHAPTER 12
- Great woman appears in the sky
- Great dragon waits for a child to born so he can devour it
- Michael and his angels battle the dragon
- Dragon was enraged by the woman’s escape, and goes out to make war on the rest of God’s people
CHAPTER 13
- Beast came out of the sea
- The beast and dragon were worshipped by anyone who did not have their name in the book of Life
CHAPTER 14
- Lamb appears with the 144.000 faithful
- angels warn against the mark of the beast
- Son of man appears
CHAPTER 15
-Seven angles holding seven final plagues that would bring God’s wrath to a climax
