Only used for things that can be laid horizontal in the kitchen
Lägg tallriken på bordet. Put the plate on the table
Lägg skäbrädan (cutting board) på bordet

“Put” word for stands (promixity)
used for things that kind of have a foot and that can stand upright, usually cups/glasses because they can’t be horizontal.
Ställ glaset på brickan.

More universal way of saying “put”
Don’t mix up with “sätt på” which means “turn on”. Stäng av means turn off.
