Carr Inlet Naval Restricted Area -

A

Carr Inlet bounded by a line from Gibson Pt on Fox I to Hyde Pt on McNeilI, and from Green Pt to Penrose Pt. A portion of Pitt Passage from Carr Inlet to Pitt I. A portion of Hale Pass from Carr Inlet to 500 yds NW of Fox I Bridge.

A

i) used as an acoustic range for research and noise studies, no explosives.
ii) no vessels can approach or remain within 100yds of hydrophone bouys.
iii) no anchoring, or towing a drag at anytime within 1000yds of buoy testing area.

iv) Remainder of the area is open to navigation except when the range is in use or when hydrophones are being calibrated.

A

Quick flashing red or green lights every 2 seconds will display on towers at Gibson, Green, Penrose, Pitt I, and Hyde Pt when range is in use or when hydrophones are being calibrated.

v) When range is in use or hydrophones are being calibrated;
1. no power boats within 200yds of low water mark at Green Pt. Permission indicated by flashing green lights.
2. Non power vessels restricted to points near shore.
3. Commercial traffic and tugs will signal by VHF Ch 6,12,13,14 to “Carr Inlet Range Control”
4. Red and green signal flags on towers if lights fail.
