Why should posts NOT be used in premolar and molar teeth?
A
- Narrow roots
- Disadvantages outweigh advantages
- Core retention can be from physical undercuts and DBAs

If there is coronal tissue in a posterior tooth following RCT, how may it be restored?
A
- GP removed in canal orifice to creat mechanical retention
- Pulp chamber etched and bonded for core build up with RESIN based material
- -> non-bonded material act as wedge towards wall resulting in fracture

What are the treatment options for a RCT posterior tooth?
A
INDIRECT
- Partial coverage = inlay/ only
- Complete coverage = metal crown, metal ceramic crown, ceramic crown
DIRECT
- Post core crown (avoid if at all poss)
- Cores = am, comp, GI/ RMGI
