  • Narrow roots
  • Disadvantages outweigh advantages

If there is coronal tissue in a posterior tooth following RCT, how may it be restored?

A
  • GP removed in canal orifice to creat mechanical retention
  • Pulp chamber etched and bonded for core build up with RESIN based material
    • -> non-bonded material act as wedge towards wall resulting in fracture

What are the treatment options for a RCT posterior tooth?

A

INDIRECT

  • Partial coverage = inlay/ only
  • Complete coverage = metal crown, metal ceramic crown, ceramic crown

DIRECT

  • Post core crown (avoid if at all poss)
  • Cores = am, comp, GI/ RMGI
