16
Q

What label must a child safety seat have if being used in Canada?

A

A label that states the product meets Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213.

17
Q

What is the difference between a safety seat and a booster seat?

A

Children who weigh more than 18kg/40lb should use a booster seat prior to using only the seat belt without a booster seat. Safety seats are for all children under 18kg/40lbs.

18
Q

Why should you not use a cell phone while fuelling up?

A

Phones that light up when switched on or when they ring may have enough energy to provide a spark, which could ignite gasoline vapours.

19
Q

What setting should your ignition be on before fuelling up?

A

OFF!!!

20
Q

Why should you stay by the nozzle handle during fuelling?

A

Static electricity from moving around or in and out of your vehicle can release when you return to the pump and could ignite the gasoline vapours and cause a fire/explosion.

21
Q

Where should extra containers (e.g., lawn mower or snow blower gas containers) be placed when filling them?

A

Remove them from your vehicle and place them on the ground. This will allow static electricity to discharge and keep spills out of your vehicle.
