Q

Describe the process for removing lactic acid from the body

A
  1. Lactic acid built up in the muscle cells during exercise.
  2. Blood flows through the muscle cells and transports the lactic acid to the liver.
  3. The liver oxidizes the lactic acid and converts it back into glucose.
  4. Glucose is then used in aerobic respiration, or it is converted to glycogen and stored in the liver for later use.
