Respondent validation and interpretation of data Flashcards
1
Q
What is respondent validation
A
where participants check findings or data to ensure that it is an accurate representation
2
Q
Why is respondent validation useful
A
- the researcher can gain feedback from the participants who were involved in the event or situation that was researched in order to check how their behaviour was interpreted. This can improve the validity of the research as it ensures that a group and social situation is presented accurately
- avoids bias and existing perceptions when researching a group or situation which improves validity (due to true insight) - interpretivists ( verstehen, validity and true insight)
