What do you document for sputum description?
Amount, texture, color, and if coughs are productive or not

Coughing maneuvers
Sit hugging a pillow, drink water, take a deep breath in, pause, contract abs, forceful exhalation making a “k” sound.
Apnea
Absence of spontaneous breathing
Bradypnea
Slow respiratory rate
Less than 12 breaths /min in adults
Eupnea
Normal rate and depth of breathing
