A
Taking in and letting out air from the lungs

A
Your rib cage is moved up and out by the action of rib muscles

What is the diaphragm
A
A large sheet of muscle that arches underneath the lungs, when it is pulled downwards air is drawn into the lungs.

What is an alveoli
A
The walls of the alveoli are one cell thick and covered with a fine layer of water. Oxygen dissolves in this water and then moves through the wlll of the alveoli into the blood.
