Q

Gaseous exchange

A

> Occurs in the alveoli
Delivers oxygen from the lungs to bloodstream and extracts CO2 from the bloodstream is to the lungs
O2 leaves the alveoli through capillaries and enters the bloodstream
Athletes with good endurance can diffuse O2easier because they have better cardiac output and on the surface area of the alveoli

Q

Why is lactic acid formed?

A
During anaerobic exercise >oxygen runs out
> muscles use glycogen as fuel
>glycogen is made from nutrients in food
>When run out lactic acid is made
>causing Muscles to fatigue
