Bronchoscopy
using a camera to look inside of the lungs
Chest x-ray
X ray of lung to look for fluid for collapse
Oximetry
Mr. Pinchy… pulse oximeter measures oxygen in your blood (needs to be 96 or above)
Polysomnography
Sleep study to watch brain waves and detect anomalies
Pulmonary Angiography
check for clots in blood vessels that supply the lungs
Spirometry
test to record the volume of air a person can inhale/exhale
ABG or Arterial blood gas
Blood test to exactly measure O2 saturation in the blood
Aerosol Therapy
nebulizer … medicine that is aerosolized
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
CPR
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)
Tx for sleep apnea… keeps airway open when asleep
Endotracheal (ET) Intubation
breathing tube placed in airway fo a ventilatory or manual respiration
Ventilator
Used to assist a patient with breathing
Antihistamine
used to calm autoimmune (allergic) reactions. Interrupts inflammatory pathway/ Ex: benadryl
Bronchodilator
Dilated bronchi
Antitussive
Cough suppressant… why can’t this be bad?
