What is Asthma?

A

Asthma is a long-term chronic condition that affects the airways in the lungs. The airways are tubes that carry air in and out of our lungs. Asthma is where the airway can become inflamed and narrow making it harder for the ai to flow out of the airways when breathing out.

What is Emphysema?

A

Emphysema is a condition that develops over time and it’s the damage of lung tissue, the destruction of the Alveoli. The damage causes air sacs to rupture and create one big air pocket instead of many small ones. Traps air in the damaged tissue and prevents oxygen from moving through the bloodstream making it difficult to breath.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?

A

An inherited genetic condition that affects the movement of salt and water in and out of cells. Can cause constant infections resulting in a build-up of sticky mucus in the body tubes and passageways - lungs and digestive system. Lead to severe lung damage causing difficulty breathing, digestion.
