Cough
Forceful release of air from lungs; cleans irritants, secretions.
Sputum production
Mucous material from lungs that is brought up or produced by coughing
Hemoptysis
Coughing up blood
Dyspnea
Difficult or labored breathing
Shortness of breath

Tachypnea
Rapid, usually shallow breathing
Bradypnea
Slow, usualy deep breathing
Eupnea
Normal quite breathing (12-20/min)
Pleural rub
Dry, rubbing, or grating sound heard on auscultation. Caused by friction between parietal and visceral pleurae.
Cyanosis
Bluish color of skin and mucous membranes due to insufficient oxgen levels in blood.
Chest pain
Complaint requires immediate diagnosis and evaluation
