If air exchange is adequate w/ FBAO what is done
Encourage patient to cough up obstruction
ALS level 1 for Asthma
Albuterol - 2.5mg/2.5mL NS repeat x2
Atrovent - 0.5mg/0.5mL (first neb tx. only)
Epi (1:1000) - 0.3 mg IM repeat x1
Mag. Sulfate - 2g in 50mL D5W over 5-10 mins
CPAP - 2.5-5 PEEP
ALS level 2 for Asthma
Third dose of Epi (1:1000) 0.3 mg IM
When should caution be used when admin. EPI (1:1000) for asthma
Pts. older than 40 y/o
Pts. w/ hypertension or heart disease
ALS level 1 for Emphysema/bronchitis

CPAP - 2.5-5 PEEP
ALS level 1 for CHF/PE
Nitroglycerin - (BP: 100-160) - 0.4 mg SL (max. x2 add. if pt. is symptomatic and BP above 120
(BP: above 160) - 0.8 mg SL (repeat @ 0.4 mg every 3-5 mins if BP is above 160)
CPAP: 10 PEEP (5-7.5 if not tolerated)
ALS level 2 for CHF/PE
Albuterol - 2.5mg/2.5mL
Atrovent - 0.5mg/0.5mL
When should nitroglycerin not be given
BP: less than 100
Pt. took erectile dysfunction medications
What is the time line for ED medication
Stendra (Avanafil) - last 12 hrs
Viagra (Sildenafil) - last 24 hrs
Levitra (Vardenafil) & Cialis (Tadenafil) - last 48 hrs
CPAP should not be used if BP drops below
systolic: 100 mmHg
ALS level 1 for Pneumonia
Fluid challenge - 250-500cc NS
Albuterol - 2.5mg/2.5mL NS repeat x2
Atrovent - 0.5mg/0.5mL (first neb tx. only)
What should be avoided with Pneumonia
Diuretics
