Sudden onset Dispnea/tachypnea Pleuritic chest pain cyanosis normal breath sounds, could have Rales in severe cases Hemoptysis (rare) may have profound hypotension cardiac arrest risk factors present - infection and thrombosis, irregular heartbeats/atrial fibrillation, recent surgeries especially abdominal and pelvic, sickle cell, long bone fractures, bed ridden patients, IV drug users, oral contraceptives, childbirth
