Heat exhaustion
A
Onset while working hard or exercising in hot environment In elderly and young, onset may occur while at rest in hot, humid, and poorly ventilated areas warm or cool, moist, and flushed skin headache nausea weakness dizziness syncope

Hypothermia
A
May or may not be shivering cold skin Confusion, lethargy, apathy red, pale or bluish skin joint or muscle stiffness bradycardia Bradypnea weak pulse hypotension sluggish pupils dilated pupils Coma May appear dead

Heatstroke
A
Onset can be slow or rapid Altered level of consciousness hot, dry, flushed skin could still be moist Hypotension tachycardia seizures are possible
if exertional heatstroke may appear like heat exhaustion initial stage, skin may still be moist, environment may not be a primary factor

Air embolism
A
Rapid onset severe pain in muscles and joints dyspnea chest pain dizziness, nausea, and vomiting dysphasia difficulty with vision paralysis and/or coma Irregular pulse or cardiac arrest

Slow onset joint pain divers itch general fatigue Ataxia, dysarthria vertigo N/V

A
