Barking cough, inspiratory stridor, increased WOB, substernal retraction

Management
Limit handling
Supportive therapy (analgesia, IV fluids)
May need steroids (oral, IV or nebulised)
Can use adrenaline but associated with rebound ‘crash’
Foreign body
Investigations and findings
X-ray - foreign body and paradoxical hyperinflation

Toxic looking, stridor, drooling

Management
Don’t do anything until someone who can intubate is present

Caused by floppy larynx
Noisy breathing when crying or upset but absent when sleeping and settled
Self limiting by 12 months
