what is the difference between an adult and a pediatric airway?

- adult airway is cylinder shaped with the vocal cords being the narrowest part, and the ped is funnel shaped with the cricoid ring being the narrowest
- adult airways epiglottis is shorter compared to the ped who is floppy and u shaped.
- pediatric trachea is more flexible compared to the adult
