Q

What is aerobic resp

A

When oxygen diffuses from alveoli into bloodstream
Glucose diffuses out of small intestine into digestive system and into capillaries in bloodstream and then into respiring cells.

Carbon dioxide is waste product of diffusion and goes out of cells into bloodstream and then into alveoli to be breathed out of the body

Q

What happens when we reach max breathing rate and cardiac output

A

We cant supply oxygen any quicker so cant release more energy in aerobic resp. Therefore we begin to respire anaerobically

Q

What is EPOC

A

The extra oxygen needed to break down lactic acid after anaerobic resp. Its called the “excess post exercise oxygen consumption”
