Q

What is ETC?

A

. ETC happens in the cristae of the mitochondria and the loaded carriers from previous stages provide the hydrogen ion and electrons, ATP synthase is turned on. The hydrogen ions and electrons are transported across the cytochrome, which creates 26 or 28 ATP the hydrogen and electrons used in ETC bond with oxygen to form water.

Q

What is anaerobic respiration?

A

In animals it requires glycose to split into 2 pyruvate which then becomes 2 lactic acid, this process produces 2 NADH and 2 ATP. Anaerobic fermentation also has the splitting of glucose splits into 2 pyruvate then into 2 ethanol 2 C02, 2 NADH and 2 ATP.

Q

What is the Krebs Cycle?

A

Krebs cycle occurs once for each pyruvate totalling twice for 2 pyruvates before pyruvate enters the Krebs cycle it releases C02 and NADH and in total, this produces two C02 and 2NADH
