how to dydx strep and EBV
Centor/ Streptococcal score
0 – 1 : 2% strep
1 – 3 : rapid test
4 – 5: 52% strep, empirical abx
FATTA
Fever : 1
Absence of cough : 1
Tender ant. Cervical adenopathy : 1
Tonsillar swelling or exudates: 1
Age < 15: 1
15 to 45: 0
>45: -1
rx for strep
10 days phenoxymethlypenicillin or IM benpen if compliance an issue
all : cephelexin or roxoithromycin
TB massive haemorrhage rx
- bronchoscopy
- arteriographic embolisation
- intubate if severe
risk of TB reactivation
5-10% most in first 1-2 years
most commonly affected organ in extra-pul disseminated TB
meninges up to 25% of miliary TB
