need define
something necessary for survival & wellbeing

something desired, makes life more pleasurable - not essential
primary need
biological or physical needs that are necessary to meet for life to exist, such as the need for food, water and oxygen
secondary need
the need for love, security, safety, privacy, respect and status are contributory to our wellbeing and emotional health.
