reservior Flashcards
“ECONOMICALLY” VIABLE
- PERMEABLE
- VOLUME SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT
- RESERVOIR NOT TOO COMPARTMENTALIZED
- INTRINSIC PROPERTIES
- NET TO GROSS
- POROSITY
- PERMEABILITY
- HYDROCARBON SATURATION
MEASURE OF POTENTIALLY PRODUCTIVE PART OF A RESERVOIR.
COMMONLY EXPRESSED AS PERCENTAGE OF PRODUCIBLE (NET) RESERVOIR WITHIN THE
OVERALL (GROSS) RESERVOIR PACKAGE.
NET TO GROSS-
VOID SPACE IN THE ROCK, MEASURED AS VOLUME PERCENTAGE OR A FRACTION
(AS DECIMAL).
POROSITY-
AN INTRINSIC PROPERTY OF A MATERIAL THAT DETERMINES HOW EASILY A
FLUID CAN PASS THROUGH IT.
PERMEABILITY-
MOST COMMONLY, RESERVOIRS CONTAIN BOTH OIL AND
WATER . IT IS RARE TO FIND A RESERVOID WITH PURE OIL (OR GAS).
HYDROCARBON SATURATION-
- MOST OF THE BEST RESERVOIRS ARE RELATIVELY YOUNG.
