What is the definition of a lab experiment?
A
An experiment constructed in an artificial controlled environment. There is usually a standardised procedure.

What is the definition of a field experiment?
A
The experiment is conducted in a naturalistic setting. An IV is manipulated by the researcher but not in a laboratory setting. The DV is measured quantitatively as in lab experiments.

A
The researcher does not manipulate the independent variable to measure the outcome.
