Scot v London & St Katherine’s Docks: claimant injured by some bags of sugar which fell from defendants warehouse above. No evidence f negligence but Court of Appeal held negligence could be inferred under RIS

What does Res Ipsa Loquitur (RIS) mean?
A
Latin for ‘the facts speak for themselves’
Sometimes the facts of a case can mean that something could not have happened unless there was negligence.
