A
- add the metal oxide to a warm solution of acid in excess where it no longer reacts
- filter the excess metal oxide to leave a solution of the salt
- gently warm the salt so the amount of liquid has halved
- leave the evaporating basin in a warm, dry place (windowsill) to crystallise and pat the crystals dry with filter paper

- corrosive acid can cause damage to eyes (use goggles)
- Hot equipment can cause burns
