What are phytoestrogens and where is it found?
A
Phytoestrogens are estrogen mimicks found in many plants especially legumes and peas. It causes infertility and bone marrow effects by artificially raising estrogen levels.

What is the mechanism of Zearalenone and where is it found?
A
It is a very resistant mycotoxin found in stored grains and acts as an estrogen receptor agonist to cause muscle over-relaxation (to the point of vaginal/rectal prolapse, bone marrow effects, and infertility

How do you treat Zearalenone toxicosis?
A
Remove it from the feed. It tends to have a long half-life, so it may take months to reverse signs.
