What is the difference between male and female pelvic bone?
The females have a oval pelvic inlet and the males have a heart shape one
What is the female perineum?
The skin covering the region between the anus and the vaginal orifice
How far does the perineum extend?
From the pubis symphysis anteriorly and the coccyx posteriorly
The perineum is divided into two triangles which are?
The urogenital and the anal triangle- may be torn during child birth
What is the clitoris?
Small elongated collection a highly sensitive erectile tissue located at the anterior junction of the labia minora
Where is the body of the clitoris located?
Embedded beneath the superior vaginal mucosa
The visible part of the clitoris is called?
Gland
External urethral oriffice?
Opens posteriorly to the clitoris within the labia
What is the other name for the vulva ?
Pudendum
What does the vulva contain?
Mons pubis, gland of the clitoris, greater vestibular gland, urinary meatus, labias and vaginal oriffice
Functions of the vulva
Mons pubis and labias protect the clitoris and vestibule
The clitoris sends information to the sexual response area of the brain
Vaginal oriffice is the boundary between the internal and external genitals
The function of the female reproductive system
Produce ova, facilitate conception and development along with both of offspring.

Outer - loose fibrous , middle- smooth muscle and inner- lined with stratified squamous epithelium
