Oogensis:
Primary follicle and secondary follicle involved, produces a single egg.
Endoderm:
developments of epithelial lining of digestive tract and respiratory tract. Inner layer
Mesoderm:
Middle layer; developments of all systems. outer layers of digestive and respiratory systems.
Ectoderm:
outer layer. development of epidermis of skin. epithelial lining of oral cavity and rectum
Somites:
blocks of developing muscle tissue that differentiate from mesoderm
Third month events for mother and baby:
mother: uterus is size of grapefruit. baby: possible to distinguish sex, fingernails appear.
fourth month events for mother and baby:
mother: fetal movement is felt and heartbeat can be detected. baby: bony skeleton is visible and hair begins to appear
fifth month events for mother and baby:
mother: fetal movement is felt and uterus reaches up to level of umbilicus, pregnancy is noticebale. baby: Vernix caseosa begins to be deposited.
Sixth month events for mother and baby:
mother: breasts have enlarged and colostrum is produced. baby: covered with fine hair called languo and skin is wrinkled and reddish
seventh month events for mother and baby:
mother: uterus reaches halfway through umbilicus and ribcage. baby: testes descend into scrotum, eyes are opened
8th month events for mother and baby:
mother: standing and walking are difficult and weight gain is averaging about a pound a week. baby: body hair begins to disappear and fat begins to be deposited.
9th month events for mother and baby:
mother: Uterus is up to ribcage, sleeping becomes difficult. baby: baby is ready for birth.
