uterine lining?
thickness changes over mesntrual cycle
what is the mensrual cycle
when blood and uterine lining is discharged from vagina whcih is known as mesntruation
stages of menstruation
uterine lining breaks down and is discharged through the vagina
repair and growth of uterine lining, oestrogen is produced by the ovary which causes the uterine lining to repair itself and grow in thickness
ovulation, release of a mature egg from the ovary to oviduct
further thickening, progesterone further thickens the uterine lining and causes it to be more vascularized
what happens if fertilisation does not occur
progesterone no longer secreted
uterine lining breaks down and not maintained
