what is social representation
idea that the make up of parliament and the politicians in it should mirror the make up of society e.g. half should be women
what is representing the national interest
some times mps may have to represent the interests of the nation over the interests of their constituents for the greater good
what is constituency representation
representing the interests of the community in the national parliament, also the views of individual constituents- could also mean listening to constituents e.g. in their surgery
what is party representation
when mps represent a party or manifesto when running for local election
what is occupational representation
representing a certain social group aswel as thier constituency in the national parliament-could be LGBTQ groups or trade unions supporting doctors or teachers
