What is used to take replica impressions?
- lab putty
- vaseline

Describe how to take replica primary impressions.
- apply adhesive to try
- fill upper dentate tray with lab putty
- push denture into putty, ensuring material reaches the edge of the flange but doesn’t cover the fitting surface
- cut orientating notches into putty
- cover putty in vaseline
- roll lab putty over top of denture ensuring full denture is covered
- place upper dentate tray on putty to stabilse impression
How do you remove a denture from a replica impression?
- gently lever denture at the posterior ridges
- DO NOT lever at the hard palate as this can fracture
What are the advantages of temporarily modifying dentures before replica impression?
- incorporates modifications in record block
- allows patient to try the change
- check assessment is correct
- make later stages easier
How do you use green stick?
- heat slowly
- wait until material goes matt
- apply
- shape
- mould in mouth
- should not be applied to fitting surface
What equipment is required to trim and record a wax block?
- heat source
- fox bite plate
- wax knife
