Renewable + Non-renewable Flashcards
What is a natural resource?
Natural resources are resources that exist without the actions of humankind. These include: water, air, coal, natural gas, minerals.
What is a renewable resource?
A renewable resource is one that is naturally replenished, therefore it has an endless supply. Examples include: solar, wind, hydroelectric, biomass and geothermal energy.
What is a non-renewable resource?
A non-renewable resource is a natural resource that is not replenished with the speed at which it is consumed. It is a finite resource. Fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal are examples of nonrenewable resources
Explain the correlation between the demand and the population.
Most resources are not evenly distributed meaning that they will run out quicker and other countries that are richer will most likely try to take as much as possible. The population size has massively increased and so has the demand for resources.
